Maybe WD-40. Also, when installing new rotors, paint the inside of the hub to keep it from rusting and making removal impossible. Do not paint the surface that rests on the bearing flange, just the circular part that surrounds the flange.

As this thread has morphed a bit, let me ask a syncro rotor question:

Every year I take my Canadian van to have the Krown.com rust prevention treatment. This treatment consists of spraying the underside of the van with an oily substance. As one pays for the treatment, they advise caution as the oily spray gets on the brakes and will impede stopping for the first 4 or 5 stops. I have been doing this for 7 years and the brakes work fine after 4 or 5 stops.

I am wondering; when I put my van to be for the winter, I just might take off the front wheels and spray (or wipe) the rotors with the Krown oil. Maybe even the rear brake drums too.

Any reasons not to???? Malcolm (91 syncro)
