Eric, not to nitpick, but I think you might mean they are in parallel, putting two 12v batteries in series, would give you 24V, putting them parallel would remain at 12v, but double the amperage.

Hey all -

I too have the optima that I've never been able to fully discharge - (though I haven't really tried) - it's on the standard dual installation on my 85 GL. Apparently these are in series. Someone told me that an optima with a normal battery in series is not the best setup. Given that I already have the optima in. Is there a simple solution to this? I wonder if it's worth putting an isolator in also so that I can watch 10 DVD's in a row if need be? (Got stuck at Kirkwood for an extra day or two last year and of course they had to close the mountain on those days - ugh)

Any suggestions? Is my setup just peachy keen fine as it is?
