In don't have an answer for you but I can tell you there are some universal starters. The type 3 starter does not require a bearing at the end of the drive gear shaft. Its hard to believe but this thing has this big thick shaft that throughs out and stars lots of VW's. You can use it in a bus, a bug, and several other Vw's. If you want a universal starter, this would be the one to try. I would like to see if anyone can come up with a good asnwers to what fits what here... Eric
