If you remove the clock, you will see the issue. There won't be a spring that goes flying across the room - pretty well self contained!

O.K., I know that this sounds dumb, but I was trying to set the clock on my '87 Vanagon the other day. I was using a very small, pointy screwdriver, like you use to adjust your eyeglasses. Well, I think I pushed the button in to far, or got it cocked to the side, because now that little tiny button won't come back out and the hours just keep advancing every second or two. For now I'm pretending that it is a lap timer, but I'd like to know if there is a simple solution, a complicated solution, or whether I've just screwed myself altogether now.

Before I take the instrument panel apart, what should I expect? Can I fix it? Can the clock be replaced?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers, Bruce motorbruce motorbruce@hotmail.com
