Eric, methinks you exaggerate grossly!

If some off-topic nonsense about coffee and bears could rip apart the
Vanagon community, then the community couldn't have been too strong to start
with.  Nonsense is healthy.  And years from now there will be allusions to
"oh no, bears and coffee!" which will make all of us realize that we were
part of a community that shared an experience that people who join the list
next year won't even understand.
