When my wife and I camp with my daughter and granddaughter, it makes things SO much easier when they can go up and down a small aluminum ladder I carry for that purpose. The step would be better in some ways, I think, but the ladder is pretty foolproof for a five-year-old on the way down from the top, and besides the ladder was free. I don't carry it unless they're going with us, and it bungees vertically behind the passenger seat (at the ceiling, just so it doesn't fall over in transit) if they are. We can get up and start coffee and whatever without considering whether the cabinet lid is available for climbing on. Jim |
