Well okay, here goes. I did some research online and I am thinking now the package indicates "millicandelas" which is 1 1/1000 of a "candela". (cd) because 30,000 candelas is way way too much light.

Now the (very basic) conversion for lumens to candelas is to divide the lumens by 12.57

So going the other way - (stay with me) if I have 30,000 millicandelas , equals 30 candelas, multiply that by 12.56 I get 377.1 lumens per lamp. totaling 754.2 lumens for the two lamps which draw .75 amps

Compared to the standard 8watt fluorescent in the weekender which is .9 amps at 400 lumens .

Based on the difference in power it would seem roughly you are getting better than twice the light output for the same power draw with the CCFL lamp system..

not bad now I need to make a reflector housing to install them.

Pretty good light for $9.99 folks!

Anybody know the formula for converting the following brightness spec (30,000cd/UF) into lumens?

The standard 8watt flourescent in the weekender produces 400 lumens and draws .9 amps

The CCFL lamps I bought draw .75 amps and produce the 30,000cd/UF in brightness

Help!

Thanks,

Doug
