You don't mention what the acceptable limit is in your state. In New York it is 220 for an 87 so your close. Makes sure the timing is properly set, not over-advanced and set the idle speed to 950-1,000 rpm. Yes this is above the idle stabilizer attempted 800-850. The extra air will reduce the HC significantly. As the vans get older, the poorly designed intake manifold and injector differences will cause some cylinders to have the mixture slightly out of balance. This results in a lean mis-fire at low idle causing the excessive CO. If still no good, check compression-leak down looking for valve problems. Next step is the catalytic converter.

ok, Volks- plugs, dist. cap, rotor and/or oxygen sensor or cat. converter (PASSed on report...), or ......?

CO PASSed (.15 @ idle, .44 @ 2500 rpm). Everything else VALID, N/A or PASSed.

Of course, I need my registration by Tues......
