the problem with venting a propane fridge for exhaust air and not intake air is it DEFINATELY would NOT run while driving, but then 12vts would be fine. the problem with propane and 2 vents would be the atmospheric pressure diferances would easily blow out such a small flame, our westy fridges are delicate in the respect, if the tubes have a slightly differant bend then it's more prone to extinguishing the small flame.

I had a similiar problem with a gas heater installed by my brother. the intake inside the drafty old beetle, the exhaust out the wheel well. open the wing windo and poof.. flame goes out. (and thats much bigger a flame)

but for off the grid camping and having the foodstuffs stay colder then my 12vt fridge can maintain this sounds like a semi reasonable method. as for the 25% return rate.. i blame the expectations of perfection in modern consumerism (whens the last timeyour whopper looked as in the images?) And maybe it'll bring the price down for some (time to check e-bay)

I just called LoftyShelters and come to find out, this fridge is a DOMETIC. That's right, same maker as our Westy fridge.

The fellow at LoftyShelters was not to complementory about this RC3000 model (25% return rate). But he did say that the flue could be modified for an outside exhaust, but this would have to be gerry-rigged. Air intake comes from inside the van. >
