Subject: Ontario north of Georgian Bay - Buffalo to Sault Ste Marie
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

So, Nova Scotia is off, and I'm heading out tomorrow to upstate NY and from there to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan via the north shore of Georgian Bay. I'll have three days to get to Michigan from Ithaca.

Suggestions? I've been looking at Ontario Provincial Parks on their website, they look splendid. I hope they don't all fill up in late August - when do Canucks start school, anyway? I've heard a bit about polar bears from some friends who wanted to kayak up there. They were told _which_kind_ of rifle to carry in their kayaks just in case - not whether to carry one. But NOOOOO I'm not starting another bear thread, and I'm not carrying a rifle and I'll stay close to very busy places and just not carry any food!

I'll be leaving Ithaca Monday, getting to Michigan Thursday. Any of you Torontonians going to be out in your vans in that neck of the woods next week? Want to meet up? Send p-mail or give me a call before Monday - once I'm in Canada I don't think I'll have cellphone or email.

Joy
