I don't know what the hell he's doing but that's an 85 Vanagon A/C condenser under my Porsche. The condenser in the engine compartment is about the same # of square inches. The one under the car is a round tube type that is 12" x24" x 1.5", it has two rows of tubes and has a #6 inlet and a #8 outlet if that makes any sense to the A/C pros among the Vanagon tribe. It quite literally brought the A/c system with 134r down into the low 30s at every duct. I'd consider that possibly enough to cool down a turtle van.
