Steel quality (body) Body strength, integrity & durability Appearance (depending on paint, grill & lights!) Space Handling Upgradability (mechanical & electrical) Turning-circle Groundclearance (though less than earlier Type 2s)

More downers: Taillights too small, too low Front indicators too small, too low Raised floor over engine intrudes Rear seats not quick-removable Sliding windows can be lifted & slid whilsyt locked, and access gained thereby Horrid heater controls Lack of center dash vents Fusebox in glovebox (RHD) with flimsy cover which hangs down
