This is the bad one believe me. About half way between Murdo and Kadoka, SD on the I-90, number four rod came through the case on Ina's motor. Guess it just didn't like being inside any longer. So much for the theory that the hi pressure oil light switch was faulty. Now we're into a big problem. Ha ! Ina is taking it all with a big laugh. Called the towing and within a half hour we are back under way. Ina's van off to Import Service in Rapid City the supposed local VW guru. Rita and I went off on our own to see the Badlands and visit Wall Drug and leave some money behind to encourage the local economy. After a quick hamburger at the local Wall juke joint we get off to meet up with Ina at Import Service. Coming up on this place is quite the trip, Vanagons, Bay, Beetles and various other VW all over. Looks like the right place. Rocky said he can get Ina fixed up with a rebuilt motor and back on the road by Wednesday. He has seen Larry Chase and done some work for him whatever that may mean, Larry got any comments ???? Anyways, Rocky was off to play golf by the time Rita and I got on the scene. He said we could all camp in his yard and use his hydro connection, yahoo ! Rita, Ina & I will go off today shopping, visit Mt. Rushmore and take in the sights of Rapid City. We will then go off on our own to Boulder and on to Salt Lake City and Burning Man. Ina will meet up with us at Burning Man when she can get there. Probably a slow drive as she will have to break in the new motor. More Vanagon excitement. Travelling through South Dakota we saw our first Westys since leaving Almonte, other than those at Rick's in Rockford. Two Vanagon and two Eurovan Westys spotted on the I-90, that's all we've seen since leaving home, we are becoming a dying breed. Rocky sure has his share of them in his derelict yard. What does that tell you ?

We are currently camping out at Import Service, 3280 W. Chicago, Rapid City, SD, 605-342-3003, courtesy of Rocky. Come by for a visit ! (:-)

Cheers,
