Wow, what a bunch of responses and good suggestions and offers of help.
With the info from several people I found that I already had the tools I
need to scan the manuals and get them into a good .pdf document that can be
distributed to people.  I'll post info on where the scans get stored.
Thanks again to everyone for all the help.

Please note - During the past 17 years of operation, several gigabytes of Vanagon mail messages have been archived. Searching the entire collection will take up to five minutes to complete. Please be patient!
