I yesterday saw one of those military 6xs....I have seen it before. Small-ish....diesel power, I think. About the size of a Vanagon, but with a pickup body that this fellow had built a cab-high very nice shell. Former military vehicle, I don't know how he manages to drive it in California...but he was on the highway...

Nearby (Ocatillo Wells Off Road Vehicular park) this weekend is the world championship off road contest....there are thousands and thousands of rock crawlers and jeeps of all kinds showing up for a $100, 000 prize in the contest....No real idea of what goes on, but I may have to go check it out....they've built this obstacle course that I would have a hard time negotiating with my legs and climbing boots....
