Hi Brian,

My personal experience in this is with a 79 bus, but the same principal could be applied to a Vanagon easily enough.

Around these parts a baywindow clock is extremely rare and costly accessory. I wanted one, but not enough to pony up $100 to someone on eBay or at a swap meet. What I did was to get a small alarm clock from the local "Dollarama" store, and glued the AA battery-powered mechanism into the back of the clock pod spacer with RTV. Then I glued in a custom clock face I made with letters traced from a VDO speedometer, and installed the arms back on the spindles.

Here's the end result: http://www.pottsfamily.ca/westfakia/clock.jpg

Pretty simple fix, and it only cost a buck.

Happy trails,
