It's always something with a VW, I went to shift my 86 syncro and off came the shift lever, cheap metal broke near the bottom, shoved a screw driver in the hole and searched for first gear to get it home, luckily close to home! What's a good inexpensive fix for this? A used shift lever, is it easy to change? I did change the plastic ball at the bottom of the lever a few years ago. TIA! I have a 71 Westy for 500 bucks for sale, no motor, but everything else works, near Albany, NY. Needs TLC. Andy |
