When I run it from the battery it doesn't seem to get very cold - but I'm new to this - does the fridge just take a long time to get sufficiently cold? Would a good tip for me the beginner be to plug it in all night before a trip in order for the "while-driving" option to work at it's best? Is the plugged-in fridge colder than the off-battery fridge? and how does the lp-fridge compare to the other two temperature wise? I haven't had the guts to put lp in the rusty tank yet so haven't tried my hand at the quirky-soundinglighting yet. Hi William, Welcome to the land of VW Maintenance! Work on bus 9 parts, trip, 1 part ! :) And I guess, It seems to be worth it for me ! :) The biggest trick I've found with the fridge, is to pre-cool it on 120, or 12v, before lighting the LP. Pre-cool on 120 overnight before traveling as well. Should cool on 12v just as well as the other options. Remove the little fitting at the bottom, outside of the fridge, and blow all of the rust out, that collects in the combustion chamber. Use a little lower pressure, compressed air. You may have to remove the outer vent. (three screws) to blow it out from the bottom. Happy trails! John C. SLC, UT. 85 Westaru... PS: Keep our road assistance list of phone numbers handy !!! :)
