Paul, Anytime you see a hydralic leak of any kind plan on fixing the source, sooner rather than later but not asap. If your slave is not moving far enough it can be bad for the clutch. Replace the master and check again or just go ahead and replace both with BD stuff. gary Date: Mon, 30 Aug 2004 00:19:29 -0700 From: Paul Guzyk <paullist@GUZYK.COM> Subject: Clutch slave cylinder only 3/4" travel length?

84 Westy. I noticed my clutch pedal goes all the way to the floor. Is this normal?

Slave cylinder total travel (clutch pedal up to pedal on floor) is only 3/4 inch. Doesn't seem like very much to me. Is this normal? http://www.pauldottrip.com/84vanagon/clutch_slave2.jpg

I noticed a few drops of brake fluid below the clutch master cylinder, on the rubber steering linkage cover and I'm wondering if the master cylinder isn't working fully. BTW, I've already manually bled the clutch slave cylinder.
