Inexpensive fix...long screwdriver JBWelded in hole!
No biggie if you got another used stick.Remove metal box above
spare wheel to access shifter connection and disconnect from shaft.
Good time to clean/lube sliding parts inside box and add "short shift"
spacer. Stick fork end should have plastic parts in good shape
Cleaning and lubing all bushings makes shifting much more smooth
