Wow! See this review by Blue Water Sailing:

This looks to be an excellent product. Excellent insulation, thoughtful
electronic design like the temp setting and battery-save function. Only
if there is room in the Westy to hold this using as freezer for extended
camping :-).
Waeco makes the Coolmatic cooler. They also makes many cool fridges. See
the Kompressor Refrigerator page on the fridgeshop's website:
http://www.fridgeshop.com/
I am considering getting one for used in my other vehicles like going
for a day trip for keeping food and drink cold and able to bring back
seafood not spoiled. I would like a 40 or 50 quarts model but neither
will fit in the boot of the Mini Cooper unless I fold the rear seats
down, or put it on the rear seat.
The DC only models can be ordered here:

Sorry I meant Danfoss from Denmark. Coolmatic is one cooler with these
compressor. There may be other cooler with other compressors that may be
cheaper.

Mike is correct that most of these are based on solid state device and
are very inefficient. The ones that are good are compressor based though
they cost significantly more. One of the best one is based on Danfoss
compressor from Demark but they run close to $500. I cannot remember the
brand though.

I think you'll find that all those 12v electric coolers pull a lot of
amps. Check the specs for the Vector, Coleman, Igloo, etc.
