C'mon Folks, I'm sure the Honda Excrement is a fine vehicle, but in spite of the advertising hype its design philosophy is 180 degrees opposite of the Vanagon. In spite of the Honda's boxy shape, the driver sits waay back and low - not up front an high as in our vans., ergo less usable space in a car that is already much smaller than the VW. With a 650 lb capacity you should be considering a side tent. Yes it will give you less trouble than a vanagon. It's built by Honda and is, obviously, at least 15 years younger than the vanagons. > >Yes, the load the Element can handle is rather light--650 lbs. including >the weight of passengers. It's enough for my wife and me to camp, but we >won't be using it to do any heavy moving. Certainly it's a limit worth >thinking about. >Lee > > > > |
