Vanagon listers, I find the links here interesting, an airstream sprinter westy for $82,000+ (ouch!) or a Sportmobile sprinter for $55,000+. That is a lot of tender loving care to my Westy. How dependable could I make mine for say $20,000 of restoration. I might even be able to get it to tow 5000 lbs. The biggest failing that I see in the sprinter ( and other ) offerings is that they all appear to have at least 95 inches of standard height. One of our westy's most attractive features to me is that it is only 84 inches tall with the top down. This opens up a lot of parking garages, fast food drive throughs, and home garage doors that are closed to the pricey sprinters. I keep being surprised that they have missed this "feature" of most traditional VW campers. Now, how do I get that 5000 lb towing capacity?
