Manco is OK, but if it says Tuck or Made in China on the roll, give to an enemy. Cheap tape anecdote: I once did a color change on a car. I did all the prep and my buddy, Charlie, who had a spray booth and years of experience, shot the top coat. I had stripped the car to a basic hulk with no trim or glass installed. Whenever I went to spray the jambs and interior painted surfaces, I picked up a roll of Tuck masking tape to use, but I found it to be nearly useless. Unfortunately, the discarded roll of Tuck tape ended up on the floor of the car. And, most unfortunately, the clueless shop kid who Charlie told to mask off the window openings found it. The first words out of Charlie's mouth when I called to find out if the job was done were, "Godd@mned Tuck tape!" While he was shooting the car, the Tuck tape peeled and, stuck between a rock and a wet surface, there was nothing he could do except continue to lay on the paint. The heavy overspray ruined the only things installed in the interior, the driver's seat and the dash. George |
