There are/were high frequency devices around which run off batteries and irritate mice and other rodents.

I cannot say if they are snake oil, or if they work. Never used one as my kids have hamsters and so such a device would be a bad thing for them :-)

Anyway, just tossing that out there for consideration, and no doubt some arguments about how they cannot possible work.....

Buyer beware.
