"With my syncro, I like camping in National Forests. Head up on to the fireroads, pull into one of the dead end roads, pop the top and you're there. Nobody else around." ...... or National Parks.........

One of my favorites in spring and late summer/fall, in the Canyonlands is the White Rim trail. No way any kind of RV can access that but you can do the entire 100+ miles of it, camping along the way in several sites, under the stars, miles from any light and noise pollution. Stupendous experience.

Aye, but there are different types of camping. For my money, the LEAST favorite is to stay at a "campground". Over crowded (often) and noisy.

With my syncro, I like camping in National Forests. Head up on to the fireroads, pull into one of the dead end roads, pop the top and you're there. Nobody else around.

I've done this in the George Washington National Forest, Monogahela National Forest, and Olympic National Forest. I believe you can do this in just about any Bureau of Land Managed area (most western National Forests). Rules vary in the east.

The roads I go on won't accomodate the RVs. (and I'm happier that way.)
