The fridge will still be cold even if the fan dies. Without the fan it will be less efficient. I think when the fan is really important is when the ambient is high.

While on the subject of fridge fans, I disconnected my fan last summer due to excessive noise. Recently purchased a 120mm computer fan to use as a replacement but haven't got around to installing it yet. Anyway, i have used my fridge quite a bit this summer with the fan disconnected and haven't noticed any change in the performance of my fridge. So.... Just how important is the fan anyway?

Thanks! Rod '84 Westy, "Slo-Pok"
