So a few weeks ago, someone asked about their power window not working. I don't recall what the solution for them was. I found something else that can fail...

I had thought my problem was a sticky motor (well, in truth that was A problem.) So I took a replacement with me when I picked up my Westy. I swapped it in one day on the trip while some other stuff was going on. Window went down once and back up. Then it stopped working again. Partly up.

I figured something was binding. I took a quick look at it on the trip but didn't see anything obvious.

I got home in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, and so wasn't really awake enough after work that day to do much car stuff.

This evening I took the panel off the door to look into the issue. Cable on the regulator didn't look quite right. So I pulled the regulator. Then I opened it up. Sigh. Looks like the cable got wound into the worm gear. I might be able to hack a fix, but I figure that will only work for a while.

Wonder if I can get one before the Labor day weekend?
