I had his problen also I replaced the coolent tank top with the new blue style and my problem went away.

Did you put new heads on the engine or reseal the old ones with new orings and gaskets? If you have the old ones on there, one or both may have cracks that are allowing exhaust to enter the cooling water jacket in the heads. Tom Miller
