Subject:      12v Aftermarket Coolers ? Any Good?

Getting ready for a three week journey and I'd like to get feedback from
anyone who have used one of the many 12v electric cooler /fridge units that
are now available from a lot of sources, i.e Vector, Coleman, Igloo, etc.


I have one of the console units made by Vector that fits between the
seats....seemed like a good idea...it has cupholders, nice size for waters,
sodas, beer, or a few snacks....but the one I have doesn't cool worth a
damn and it will drain a battery down pretty quick if left on.  Ammmeter
shows it draws 3.1amps.


Not sure if I have a defective unit or if they're not much good in general.
Like to hear others' experiences.




Like to know about any other supplimental fridge unit that work.
