Hello David,

Chances are, in addition to rotten expansion tank lines, you have a rotten crossover tube on top of the tank, as well. To do this job right, you really do need to drop the tank, but the whole process will take absolutely no more than an easy 4 hours if you havn't done anything like this before. It is easy, and you can get all the parts necessary from any of the vendors. When pulling off the visible braided hose, it is best to gently cut them off the plastic nips on the expansion tank jugs, rather than simply pull them off.

Ken Wilfey has a write-up of this procedure, as well as all the parts, on his vanagain.com site.

Good luck, and this is one of the excellent and easy repairs to make on your van...

-Damon
