I apologize for the cross post..

I've had a pondering lately. I'm in the beginning stages of planning my Syncro restoration, BIG tires, TD transplant and self camperized.. now the combination of those 3 items has raised another possibility i'm starting to investigate.

2nd fuel tank. I know Fast Forward is planning on a large one along the frame, but I look at the 30x9.5 tires and know I can't mount my spare under the nose, but looking at my vintage rabbit auxillary tank ( the ones that go in the spare wheel well) ... well I was thinking.

auxillary fuel tank Mmmmmm !!

spare wheel well .... vacant Hmmmmm ??

I'll test fit the rabbit one on my syncro spare today, (should fit as rabbit used 13in spare) and take pictures. but for my TD I may have one built (round vessel with some baffeling and drain/fill/vent) can't be too difficult for a fabricator

using a domestic dual tank switch and valving I should be able to run off the front, then switch to the rear.. only limitation is no gauge in the rabbit tank. (but can add beetle or custom sender to a custom tank) my rabbit tank is plastic, I have seen alum ones though. and availability of these rare accessories is scarce much less one to use in a camperized TD syncro (what better usage I ask??)
