Don't do it unless you plan to use a fuel cell or else to never drive on a public road. It's one thing to assume a risk, but to expect the same of anyone who you might ass-end is not the way it is done. Even if it's a cliche, a couple of Jerrry cans tied to a luggage rack should be all you need.
