<snip> > Hey, everyone, my 85 1.9L died on the highway, and I can't get it to > restart. <snip> I had an ECU go bad on a 1.9 during a trip. I was driving a bit fast (75 to 80) and pulled into a rest stop. The van died as I approached the parking spaces and I coasted into one. After some trouble shooting (also finding no spark) I put in my spare ECU and it fired right up. After the trip I swapped the old ECU back in and again no spark. That's not to say that your problem is the same, but the symptom is the same. Mike Houlton, Maine '84 GL 7 pass '85 GL Westy '00 GLS Beetle |
