Subject: Potty advice, camping related

If this offends anyone, please accept my apologies, in advance.

First off, when I camp it's just with my wife.

If I have to "go" in the middle of the night, I hate having to get up, get dressed, shoes on, take the flashlight and go find the public toilet.

I once bought a "porta-pottie", but decided that it takes up too much space and it had that "porta-pottie" smell.

What we needed was something for the middle-of-the-night emergencies, #1, only.

What works for me is the Naglene type, screw-top bottle. My wife uses a wide-mouth plastic thermos, as her plumbing is a little harder to aim.

We simply take the bottles to the toilets in the morning, empty and rinse.

My wife, who has had some medical training, explained to me that urine is "Aseptic" (free of disease causing germs).

Once you get past the "ugh" factor of dealing with the bottles, you may find that this is a very practical solution.
