Ole Long John says,

I'd try swapping out your Temp II sensor, or clean its connection. What your dealing with is cold start enrichment. Sounds like the engine is a tad rich until full operating tempature.

So, either your basic idle adjusment is off, a real possiblity or the Temp II is ready to be replaced. I personally get about a year before mine goes, one lasted eight month.

The basic idle needs the signal from the throttle micro switch that the engine is in idle. You could've been a lubber, and sprayed it when you swabbed ole Bill with that rum. Use of VOM to verify the micro switch is engaged.

Otherwise do a basic idle setup, look under my name in the archives, or under fuel injection setup.
