As far as I know, not shift points, redline points for each gear.  Probably
not any use in an auto.  In my 84 stick, the engine will cut out if you
exceed the max for each gear (ie 3 dots = red line 3rd gear).  Couldn't
figure out why my van was cutting out on the highway once.  Had it in 3rd!
