Volks,
I have been using a compound called Sikaflex-227 to securely (I mean
*really* securely) hold licence plates to the nose of my van so that they
don't get knocked or damaged off when I am off-roading.  See
http://www.fastforward.ca/pl8.jpg for an example of this.


Anyhow, I sold one of my vehicles and I have to get the licence plate off
before the handover on Friday.  Any idea what to use to get this off without
damaging my plate ($100 replacement cost) or the vehicle?  The compound is
rubbery (tire rubber soft) grey/white and it can be cut with a sharp knife.
I used only four small dime sized dots at each corner of the plate.
