Craig,
We normally share food at the Van-O-Ramas. I will bring at least one
picnic table -- maybe two.
Tim Fong from Tiburon/Woodland will bring "some" dimsum to share. Mark
from San Mateo (really my buddy with the Range Rover being forced to
drive one of my Vanagons) is bringing a small table, a small grill &
pizza. I will probably bring something to throw on the grill and some
refreshments.
We need volunteers for trash removal as the City temporarily took away
the debris boxes from the place. We also need someone to assist with
traffic direction if that becomes necessary. I will bring "Caution"
tape & some signs to block off areas we are going to use. I will also
have a small First Aid Kit just in case.
As for starting a local SF Only Vanagon List, I feel it will draw
talent and/or resource away the Vanagon Community at large. Many of us
from the SF Bay Area have been on this list for years. The Server for
Vanagon.com lived in SoMa before moving to Sausalito. Many prominent
(famous and infamous alike) Syncro, Vanaru, Tiico guys are from around
here.
Speaking of which, there should be some engine-swapped Vanagons there
for those looking to see what a particular conversion. Otmar and his
(hybrid in progress) stretch will be there. There will be a Subaru 2.2
turbo 2wd van. Ryan Alfonso is coming with his Tiico powered Westy.
There will likely also be a factory turbodiesel 16" Syncro double cab
in attendance if I get off my tail and start cleaning it up. It's a
project in progress (or lack thereof). Warren, are you coming?
Anyway, hope to see a bunch of you tomorrow.
