I have a vibration at certain rpm's with a diesel conversion. I noticed that their is quite a bit of vibration at the nose of the transmission. The mount seems to be absorbing it but I am now wondering if some of the vibration is being transmitted to the chassis. Looking at the rubber core in the mount, it is connected top and bottom, but their is a gap on the sides between the rubber and the steel portion of the mount. I don't know what the mount should look like. Some have said that the rubber is usually beat out of a bad mount allowing the center bolt (that is supposed to be surrounded by rubber) to physically contact the metal circular housing. Mine is no where near that bad, but could it still be defective? Wade Yorke Truro Nova Scotia '84 Westy 1.9TD |
