But Vince, how many cars isnīt there with "high preformance" exhausts out there? Not to mention LOUD bikes ! All bought to "gain up to 12hp" and to give an impression that you have a really souped up machine at the redlights The problem with a Vanagon is that you probably donīt hear that nice engine sound which makes it a bad investment OR - this is even worse - you end up cursing that loud pipe whenever you go away on holliday and spend the first two days after arrival trying to get back to normal hearing status ;-)

Seriously though - headers and low backpressure exhaust systems are mostly designed for a hi-rpm power peak and might cut the low end torque back a bit which is probably not what you aim for in a Vanagon
