I recently bought a 1987 Westy GL that has been located in Florida for most
of its life. From my previous posting its not hard to guess that more than
just the exhaust pipes are rusting.

My plan is to remove the outside panel opposite where the appliances are
located and the appliances. There are some tell-tale signs of rust not just
on the propane tank, but along the seem and even in the fridge exhaust. I

I have a few questions:

I assume I am saving myself lots of rust-related heart-ache later. Does
anyone who has done this project before have any tips, pictures, or advice
on how to do this?

Any guess on how many hours? Luckily, I am able to pay a friend to help out.

The plan is to sand & brush the rust down to bare metal and paint it. Any
thoughts on what's the best paint?

Any clues on what I should replace while I am in there? I plan on doing
some wiring while I have the panels off, any other thoughts on what should
be done simultaneously?
