Subject: floor mats

Last Saturday I went up to San Francisco to the Vanagon meet in part to see what kind of modifications and accessories that people had. I was having a pretty good time listening to a variety of people talk about their engine conversions and the like but my wife could only take so much of that before I had to treat her to a ride down the coast.

Anyhow, one of the things I was looking for was to see what people were doing for front floor mats. I saw a couple with big heavy duty rubber mats that I've seen on a Vendor's web site. I saw one with jute mats. And a surprising number with nothing at all. But I only saw one with a Vanagon mat that I presume is from VW because it says VANAGON right across it. This owner, like me, only has the passenger side. Is this such a rare option that I'm never going to be able to find a match for the driver's side?
