Volks,

I have chance to buy a good clean 85 Westy with a bad transmission for a good
price.  I already have an 83 Vanagon with a bad engine and a good
transmission.

Is it possible to put the Air cooled '83 transmission in the water-cooled 85?
 Would this rig bolt up without modification?  Would the transmission stand
the extra 15 horsepower?

Anyone have thoughts or advise on doing this?
