1. Flannel encased double-sized feather bed 2. Very thick down comforter 3. Propex heater, thermostat, and full dedicated propane tank. 4. Pop top canvas and all windows covered from the inside with custom cut foil bubble wrap insulation attached with velcro or compression fitted, labled for quick installation. 5. Lots of hot coffee in the morning 6. A slug or two of strong adult beverage at night. 7. Snowboarding, hiking, or skiing all day to ensure a sound sleep.

Winter and late fall are the best times to own a Westy. The highest camp grounds in the Sierra drop to the 20's F or lower at night in October just before they close for the winter. Even in busy Yosemite Park is relatively uncrowded.

Sugar Pine Point State Park at Lake Tahoe was already been mentioned as a Westy winter haven (about 12 plowed camp sites all winter). Homewood ski area is a nice low-key snow resort nearby.
