I never use the set spam filters. I always use email programs that permit
me to use rules. This way you will still get some spam through but very
little goes to the trash bucket that shouldn¹t. I.e. An individual on this
list with his time out of wack. One of my rules sends him to a neutral zone
as a maybe where a lot of spam filters would send it to the trash. The
occasional message on a list that comes with no subject or is sent to
unlisted. With a straight filter these would go to the trash. With the
rules I set up it must meet two criteria to go to the trash. Since the list
addressed is recognized as valid it puts them in my neutral zone for
recovery.
