Well, I've been upgrading my Westy so that it handles like a sportscar... you knew the short shifter would be coming soon. I bought the short shifter kid from Volks Cafe. Fairly easy to install (took me 15 minutes). This kit comes with a shifter extension (to raise where the knob is). That's one aspect of the kit I didn't like. The extension adds about 6 inches to the shifter, which is just too much for my tastes. The kit refers to "the included locktite" which wasn't. Not a big deal. I didn't really notice the "short shifting" aspect until I move to third gear. :)
