Peter and list, If one goes to the Michelin web page, http://www.michelinman.com/assets/pdfs/doc_agilis.pdf you will see that the Agilis 185R14C is suitable for a 5.0-6.0 inch rim, i.e., either the stock steel or the stock alloy rims. Perhaps the shop has been given some sort of warning by VWoA mounting inappropriate passenger tires under 205 which wouldn't have sufficient load characteristics and is going overboard with it by applying it to extra strong high capacity tires like the Agilis 185's.
