There are a couple of similarities but not so much as you might think.
The 914-engine case is about the same as a 72-78 Bus Type IV.
The 914-oil cooler is the same.
The push rod tubes, valve covers, sump plate cover, engine strainer cover,
oil filter mount are the same.
The Porsche equal of the ETKA is the PAT.

I have a friend with a Porsche 914 with 2.0 L installed and a spare 1.8 L in
pieces. These look like VW engines to my inexperienced eye. Is there any
compatibility between Vanagon air-cooled engines and these Porsche engines?
Is there an ETKA type info source for these engines/cars?
Any help at all is appreciated.
