As if my many Vanagons weren't enough maintenance, I went out and bought a
low mileage (98,000 miles), clean '75 Porsche 911S today... ah crap!

It was just one of those to good to pass up deals.  The PO parked it in his
garage back in 2001, when he went to start it up last week it smoked like an
SOB.  He offered it to me for $5,000, I countered for $4,500 and here we
are.

Here's a test for the Porsche gurus out there:

It didn't smoke when he parked, so why does it smoke so bad now once it gets
hot?

The first person to answer correctly gets the honorary title of Porsche guru
of the week.  I no one answers correctly I'll post the answer tomorrow
night.

It's my 4th 911 (you'd think I'd know better by now).  I would've preferred
a pre-72, but a '75 ain't bad.  Perhaps I'll find someone out there with a
nice older 911 that wants to trade.  You never know...
